Feltings
After graduating from college, I became very interested in exploring the various ways fabric was made and embellished. I studied weaving and embroidery and made my own clothes for several years. Then, during my family-tending years I turned to painting in oils and acrylics as a means of “making”; this led me discover what could be done with the computer. After ten years of that, my fingers yearned to touch and work with actual materials and I returned to the love of cloth. My two recent teachers, Jude Hill of www.spiritcloth.com and India Flint of www.indiaflint.com have guided and inspired me to develop a love of dyeing cloth, stitching by hand, and story-telling with cloth. I am presently involved in embroidery and appliqué projects, plus doing a bit of knitting.
